First Day of School

Grade 3 and Grade 1 here we are! Hard to believe that both kids are in school full time! They were both very excited to go back to school and see all of their friends that they didn't see over the summer. We are hoping for a great school year!

Fun at Story Book Gardens!

What a fun day we all had a Story Book Gardens! We were very fortunate to have Ruby and Ellen join us. The kids had fun on the new rides and we even go to see Ruby ride on the flying elephants, she was so proud of herself and so adorable! The part that Makayla and Nicholas love the most though is the water park, with the train ride being a close second. We are all looking forward to going back next summer!

Soccer Star Nicholas

Nicholas had a great soccer season this year! His soccer skills improved this year and he played some great games! Michael was his coach this year and Nicholas loved having his Daddy as his coach.

Soccer Star Makayla!

Makayla absolutely loves to play soccer! It is her favourite sport! Unfortunately she missed at least half of the games this year due to dance class conflicts, but despite that, she had an amazing season! Her coach Sherri was great, full of energy and really helped make the game a lot of fun for the kids. Makayla can't wait until next May for soccer to start up again!

Hobin Family Reunion 2010

For the August long weekend we headed to Sarnia for the Hobin Family Reunion. It is always a good time seeing family that we only see maybe once a year and catching up. The kids loved 'meeting' family members (they have met them before, they just don't remember) and had a fantastic time swimming in Lake Huron. We are all looking forward to the next reunion next summer!

Another school year comes to an end...

Both Makayla and Nicholas had a great time in school this year. Makayla did very well in Grade 2, learning a lot of new and different things. She really liked her teacher Mrs. Boismier. Nicholas had a great year in Senior Kindergarten. His teacher, Mrs LaPointe, was wonderful and will be greatly missed!

Summer Fun ....

We are so fortunate to have neighbors who have a pool and let us go in it whenever they are not around.....and even when they are!

Nicholas' Senior Kindergarten Graduation

Nicholas had a fantastic year in Senior Kindergarten! His teacher, Mrs. LaPointe was amazing and Nicholas absolutely loved her! At the graduation we heard the kids sing a couple songs, say a couple poems and tell us what they want to be when they grow up. Nicholas said that he wants to be a Scientist, sounds like a good choice! We sure are going to miss his teacher but he is getting excited about going to Grade 1 !!

Dance 2010

Another great year of Jazz for Makayla! It was a fun class and her teacher was really great with the girls. There were 6 girls in the class and they did a fantastic job at the recital, dancing to "Good-bye". Makayla is very much looking forward to dancing again next year!

Makayla's First Communion

Makayla celebrated her First Holy Communion on May 23, 2010. It was such a beautiful day and Makayla looked absolutely gorgeous in her communion dress. We were joined by most of our family and a couple friends, both at the church and then at our house after mass. Thanks to all for the beautiful gifts that they gave to Makayla, and also just for coming and celebrating this special day with us!

Easter 2010

Easter this year was a lot of fun for Makayla and Nicholas! They went to their Gramma and Grampa's house on Good Friday where, much to their surprise, there were chocolate eggs hidden around the house! They and their cousins, Connor and Christopher, did a very good job finding then all. On the Saturday we went to Ellen's house for dinner. Makayla and Nicholas had a blast playing with Ruby! On Sunday, they woke up to find that the Easter Bunny had left them lots of candy hidden in eggs around the house. Makayla and Nicholas had such a great time finding the eggs and then opening them to see what yummy stuff was hidden inside. Another fun-filled Easter!

Christmas 2009

Makayla and Nicholas enjoyed yet another great Christmas season.

They went to see Santa Claus at the Brantford Safety Village one evening and told him what they would like this year for Christmas. Makayla asked for a canvas print of a pink flower that she had seen at a store. Nicholas asked for Ben 10 Alien Force.

We had fun decorating a gingerbread house....and eating lots of the candy! And they each got to personalize their own gingerbread boy and girl for the front of the house. They did a great job!

Makayla was bestowed the honor of carrying the baby Jesus in the procession during Christmas Eve mass. She did a great job and received many compliments on how well she did!

Christmas morning there was a ton of excitement as they came downstairs and saw the gifts under the tree. Both were very happy to see that Santa had brought them just what they had asked for.

And most importantly on Christmas and the days following they were able to spend lots of time with their family and friends.

Another year, another great Christmas!
