Ottawa

This year the kids and I accompanied Michael on his annual work trip to Ottawa. The kids were excited to be staying in such a nice hotel with an awesome indoor pool and hot tub! They got to cross the river over to Hull so that they can say that they have been to Quebec. They were able to catch a quick glimpse of the Parliament buildings as we drove by in the rain! While Michael was at his conferences Makayla, Nicholas and I visited the Nature Museum and the Museum of Science and Technology. We had a great time at both and were able to see and learn about lots of interesting things. We all had a great time visiting with Chris and Sarah, and the kids were over joyed when Michael and I went out to dinner and Chris and Sarah came over and took them swimming :) We also had a nice visit with Cathy and Don on our way to Ottawa and were able to stop to give Cathy a quick hug on the way home! A great trip!

At the Pumpkin Patch

Every year we head to a local farm to buy our Pumpkins. They get their yard all decked out with Halloween and fall decorations and there are TONS of pumpkins to choose from. We were lucky to head there on a beautiful warm autumn day.

First Day of School 2011

It's the most wonderful time of the year!!! LOL Wow, Makayla is in Grade 4 this year, Nicholas is in Grade 2. Time sure flies! Seems like just yesterday that Makayla started junior kindergarten! The kids were both really excited for school to start so that they could see all of their friends they didn't get to see over the summer. It really is a happy time for them!

Lions and Tigers and Bears....

Oh my did we have a fantastic day at the African Lion Safari! From going on the bus ride through the game reserve, to cooling off in the awesome splash pad, Makayla and Nicholas had a ton of fun! So did Michael and I !!

A trip to Napanee

In August we headed to Napanee for a visit with Cathy and Emily. We had such a great time, wish we could have stayed longer! Makayla and Nicholas went on a date with Emily to see The Smurfs one afternoon, they loved it! They were lucky enough to go swimming with Cathy in her friend's pool. We all headed to Sandbanks provincial park so that the kids could swim in Lake Ontario and so that Michael and I could look at the campsites. Makayla and Nicholas absolutely loved feeding the ducks in the river behind Cathy's house. So much fun!

We are so very thankful to our neighbours for letting us swim in their pool when they are not home (and sometimes when they are!). It was a hot summer and the kids loved cooling off in the pool!

Soccer 2011

Another great soccer season for Makayla and Nicholas! This year they were both lucky enough to have Michael coach their teams. Both had a ton of fun and greatly improved their soccer season. They can't wait until next year!

At the Cottage

We headed to the Cottage a couple times this summer. Makayla and Nicholas love it there. Lots of space to run around and play, and the water right there to cool off in. Not to mention getting to spend time with Gramma and Sophie!

Camping

This year we camped at Valens to see what it was like. The kids LOVE camping. There was a nice beach and lake that they spent a lot of time at. Makayla had a great time canoeing with Michael, she was a quick learner!
